Elle Macpherson birth name was Eleanor Nancy Gow but her parents divorced when she was only fourteen, later her mother married other guy Neil Macpherson. So Elle took the last name from his stepfather. She has 3 younger siblings. At the young age, she never thought of becoming a model. She wanted to study law so she even took admission in University of Sydney.

Elle Macpherson was discovered by a modeling agent when she was vacationing in Tasmania. She was immediatley signed for Chick model management. Soon Elle started getting more modeling offer. She became a international model when she graced the cover of ELLE magazine. For the next 6 years, she appeared in every issue of ELLE magazine. Same time she married ELLE creative manager Gilles Bensimon which inturn strengthened her contacts with ELLE.

She got a big role in movie Sirens, according to the demand of the movie, Elle gained 20 lbs and her breast got a voluptuous size 37D. In this movie she surprised her fans by giving numerous nude scenes. Later she acted in movies like “If Lucy Fail”, “The mirror has Two faces”, “The Edge”. In 1999, she appered in US hit show “sitcom friends” where she is playing the role of Joey’s roommate and girlfriend.

Elle Macpherson has her own range of lingerie “Elle Macpherson Intimates” in Australia which has now become a multimillion dollar business. She has her own clothing line as well ranging from sports wear to intimates. Elle is the co-owner of a restaurant chain along with other supermodels “The Fashion Cafe”.

In personal life, Elle Macpherson married to Gilles Bensimon , when she was 21 but this relationship lasted for only 4 years. After that for a small period, she fell in love with comedian Norm MacDonald. Then her longtime relationship started with financier Arpad Busson, she gave birth to two sons from him Arpad Flynn Alexander Busson and Aurelius Cy Andrea Busson. But later he refused to marry her, as being a catholic we was against to marry a divorcee. After their break off, she dated for some with Australian restauranteur David Evans and Real Estate developer John Hitchcox. Currently Elle is dating with British actor Ray Fearon.
